The Wales Branch of the NADJ held their annual Summer BBQ at How Caple Grange on Tuesday 10th August 2010. The event was a huge success and it combined good food, fun, games, activities for the children (and big kids) and great company. |

Earlier this year the team at Computer DJ Ltd released the OOVJ console in the UK. To compliment the kit that many DJs have only dreamt about, a revamped website has just gone live. Some of the early adopters of the OOVJ DJ console are NADJ members, including David Drew of Triple D Entertainment, who said: "The OOVJ manages the software perfectly, ripping tracks is easy with built in CD/DVD player and downloading is just as easy with the onboard Wi-Fi. The illuminated keyboard makes life easier and coupled with the built in joystick, the OOVJ is I believe the best mobile machine on the market!" |

DJ Associates Closing Down |
|
The owner of DJ Associates (DJ@) has formally given notice to its membership that the organisation is closing down. A message on their website states personal reasons for winding down the operation. DJ Associates members received Public Liability Insurance with their membership and this will end on the 31st August 2010. DJ@ are not accepting new memberships and all current members and PLI cover will expire on the same date. The owner was instrumental in negotiating better deals and bringing competition to the Public Liability Insurance market for disc jockeys. The NADJ feels that there is enough room in the market to cater for DJs from all sectors and we would like to wish the owner all the very best for the future. |

The team here at the NADJ would like to personally thank the CPC crew for inviting the Association to exhibit at the SFX Live show on Sunday 25th July 2010. The show was a success and we heard many favourable comments from the visitors and exhibitors. John Forbes and Paul Arnett promoted the organisation and used the gathering to strengthen relations with the exhibitors. The NADJ also received help from several members who gave visitors their honest opinions on how being a part of the Association has helped them to improve and develop their business. NADJ members, Peter Lockwood and David Lee Jones, get a special mention for giving up some of their Sunday afternoon to help. |

Mike Moore - Get Well Soon! |
|
Many NADJ members and DJs from across the country will know Mike Moore and about his passion for professionalism in the industry. He was instrumental in setting up the Thames Valley Disc Jockeys' Association, that later became the National Association of Disc Jockeys. Sadly, Mike badly injured his leg and wrist at the end of a gig and the team here at the NADJ would like to wish him a very speedy recovery.
Mike is a well-respected and much-liked character in this industry and some of his colleagues have rallied round him at this difficult time. It shows just how vulnerable sole traders can be when something unfortunate like a major injury happens. It is one of the reasons why the NADJ promotes networking with other members and DJs in your area. Mike - here's to a speedy recovery and a return to the DJing. |
